AllPeers Versioning

  • See Mozilla Guide for versioning and update compatibility.
  • The CVS HEAD contains always the name of the upcomming release and ‘dev’ postfix - e.g. ‘0.53dev
  • Nightly builds use timestamp as postfix ‘0.53dev.2006101212345
  • When we create a release branch in CVS (e.g. ALLPEERS_0_54_BRANCH) we change the version in the head to an upcoming release (e.g. ‘0.54‘) and in the branch we append ‘rc0’ ⇒ 0.53rc0.
  • Anytime a build is created for branch, rc number gets increased.
  • When we are satisfied with the rc, we change in the XPI the release number to (e.g. ‘0.53’ and ship it to Mozilla. Once Mozilla publishes our version, we change it to ‘0.53.1rc1’ in the branch, for the eventual bug-fix release of the current version.
